Association Bernadette Strebel World Peace (ABSWP) was officially founded on 21 March 2006. Her previous private involvement had already spanned many years.

ABSWP is a non-profit, non-governmental development organisation. The main project is the reforestation by planting trees with the objective of creating local jobs, generating funds for defined projects and improving the ecological balance.

The association is registered and recognised as an Charity Organisation by the Spanish, Swiss and Nigerian governments. In Valencia (Spain) it is entered in the “Registro Nacional de Asociaciones del Ministerio del Interior” under the registration number NIF G 54106661 as an Charity Organisation. In Switzerland the association ABSWP CH entered in the Commercial Register for the canton of Zurich under CH-020.6.001.423-1 has been granted tax exemption by the Zurich Cantonal Tax Office as it pursues charitable goals.

The association finances its projects through donations, and relies on support from private individuals, companies, communities, institutions, associations and legacies. In the longer-term, projects should be self-sustaining.
