Water Project

ABSWP has financed a well project for the people of greater Ofunwengbe in cooperation with AIFWP. For 67 years, the people of this community had to struggle without a well. Thus far, rain was their only source of fresh water. But quite often, there was no rain, and people had to walk 16 kilometres to the nearest drinking water supply in the town of Ehor. Pedestrians can easily get under the wheels of passing cars, trucks or trailers on the dangerous highway leading to Ehor, and this journey has already cost the lives of more than 50 residents of Ofunwengbe, including children and mothers.
